The application possibilities are as diverse as our model ranges. That's why DICTATOR doesn't have fix tables of types and only has a few types in stock.

DICTATOR manufacture your gas spring for your particular application, according to your requirements – even if it is only a single unit or in small quantities.

Options:

DICTATOR also offers a large amount of mounting fittings, end mounts and additional additional options such as valve, oil chamber, protective tube, various types of oil such as bio-oil or oils for extreme temperatures - which significantly expands the scope.

Damping -0 -1 -2 -3

  • 0= without damping
  • 1= attenuation on prolonging stroke
  • 2= compression stroke damping
  • 3= damping on both extension and compression strokes

Oil chamber -4

  • Almost all DICTATOR gas springs are available with an additional oil chamber.
  • This prevents the seal on the piston rod from drying out and failing. The oil also reduces friction and ensures easy sliding of the piston rod.
  • Always necessary when the gas spring is mounted horizontally or when its normal position deviates by more than 30° from the vertical position.
  • Not necessary for gas springs installed with the piston rod pointing downwards, then the oil in the cylinder is always in contact the seal.
  • Note! Be aware that gas springs with an oil chamber need a slightly longer cylinder.

Valve -5

  • The valve allows you to reduce the gas pressure yourself and reduce the sweltering force.
  • Order your gas springs with a valve if you are not sure exactly what power is required or if, for example, you want to use the same type of gas spring to balance different weights.
  • Gas springs with a valve are also ideal for determining the required power on a test application. Then you can send us the gas spring set to the correct pressure and we will measure it up and manufacture them specifically for you, without having to include a valve on each gas spring.

Protective tube -6

  • For applications in places where there is a lot of dirt e.g. on sweepers or in sandblasting cabins
  • They protect the piston rods from mechanical influences such as scratches, dust, dirt, paint, etc. that can damage the surface of the piston rod. This leads to premature failure of the gas springs. As a result, the protective tube generally extends the operating life of all gas springs
  • Note! Gas springs with protective pipes are 5 mm longer.

Spiral spring -7

  • We recommend ordering gas springs with an extra spiral spring if you want the door to open on its own after releasing it.
  • It is normally used in hatches to be opened automatically after unlocking, e.g. emergency window and smoke ventilation.
  • The spiral spring can be installed inside the gas spring cylinder or on the piston rod.

Bio oil -8

  • Environmentally friendly bio oil, based on rapeseed oil, enables the installation of gas springs with damping in areas where the use of mineral oil or silicone-based synthetic oil is not permitted. E.g. in the food or pharmaceutical industry or in machinery and factories producing chemicals or paints.
  • DICTATORS gas springs and dampers with bio-oil have undergone extensive testing even in very high and very low temperatures.
  • They can be used in a temperature range from +60° C (+140°F) to approx. -20° C (-4°F).
  • If necessary, gas springs can also be filled with oil that conforms to the FDA. This is indicated by code No. 8.
